Hi there,
The past few months have been extremely challenging. This missive has been sitting in my drafts folder for the past month. While I’ve been trying to balance everything in my life, I was sick all of February and FINALLY feeling like myself again. My intellectual, emotional, and physical health and well being were at a major low the past few weeks. This will be short because I promised myself to make certain I get something out for the month of February (barely making the time and a few minutes away til March 1, HOW is it March already!?!)
In any case, I wanted to take the time to extend a special thank you to the community members that have reached out to check in on me throughout the UCSC strike. Sending you so much love. Thank you. Thank YOU! ♥️
A few quick updates: 1) the strike has spread to other UC campuses, 2) Bernie Sanders showed his support for the UCSC striking grads, and 3) the UCSC administration proceeded with firing approximately 60 TAs, and 4) we the strike fund goal has been increased, please consider donating and/or spreading the word about the strike and learn ways you can support. You can learn more about payusmoreucsc.com!
I’m tired. I’m exhausted. And yet, I’m balancing as best as I can. Trying my best to relax, rest, and watch some really shi**y TV. Recommendations welcome. Hugs to you, my dearest one.
Much love,
Dorothy

Hip Hop Evolution - I’m a HUGE hip hop fan! If you don’t know, know you know. 😉
You - A Netflix show that is so bad, it’s good, but it’s really bad. But just, well, you have to watch it for yourself and let me know what you think.
Prom Night and Prom Night II - It’s been ages since I sat and watched slashers and had a marathon with one of my dearest friends. Reminded me of this article by one of my mentors and favorite film scholars, Shelley Stamp about horror and femininity. If you’re interested in the essay, write me an email and I will send it to you.. 🖖🏾
